Newbie: Help Setting up

Hi, I'm new to Warcraft.

Long story short. A friend online bought me warcraft a few years back as a birthday gift. Before the expansion came out. And some free time. But my old computer was a pain and the graphics card wasn't enough to play the game correctly.

I'm recently back interested in Warcraft. And hoping I can play the game on my current machine, though I cannot pay -_-

I found this on a search for playing WoW for free.

Can someone point me to any guides that can get me setup with WaMMO?
Any help would be appreciated.

I'm in the process of reinstalling the game now, and I have the 1.12 patch downloaded. I'm gonna try to download the stuff to get to 2.4.3 after this. But it will take some time.

If there are any people here with broadband and a mind for helping out a person without it I would appreciate it.

The patch for 1.12 -> 2.01 is 680mb, then I'd need 2.0 -> 2.40 which is close to a gigabyte, I could handle getting the rest, they are a 5mb, 15mb, and lastly a 24mb.

-_- I'd really appreciate any help from those who could put the patch installs onto a blank dvd and ship it to me. Anyone close to the Va area :D

Btw, before I forget.

I can log into WaMMO with the original WoW right? I don't need the Burning Crusade expansions?

And on it, I've read:
Netherstorm Instant Level 70 Burning Crusades Fun Server A server that supports the most recent WoW client. This server is an instant Level 70 server with Free Tier 6 and is oriented around PvP.
Shadowburn Mid-Rate Burning Crusades Server This server supports the most recent WoW client. This server starts a character off at level 1 but experience rates have been increased to take the redundancy out of leveling.

So do those mean I need Burning Crusades x_x Because I don't have the expansion and if it's required, unless I can get someone to help out with copied discs, I'm screwed.

Get up to 2.4.3 then do a search on forums. You'll find enough topics with help

If you are patched up to latest, you just got to your My computer > C: > program files > World of Warcaft, then you will se a file called Realmlist. open it in word or something like that, and change the realmlist to : Set realmlist Warcraftmmo.com..... if i remember it right.. hope that helps

I found a place I can get the expansion install, it'll be a GB or so in size.

With that I can get up to 2.3.3 really fast, with Burning Crusade. I'm trying some of my friends to see about help getting it :D Wish me luck!
