New to WAMMO - servers?

i am new to wammo, so if someone can answer few questions for me, i sure would appreciate it.

1 - why do i get D/C sporadically? sometimes i can be on for a couple hours, other times i can stay on for more than a few minutes. i have not had problems like this in retail version.

2 - today has been especially tough, haven't been able to 'connect' all day. is the server down? was it planned to be down? if so, why no warning?

3 - what else should i know about wammo vs retail?

1) This is normal. The server here is not as stable as retail.

2) The server went down mid-day for some kind of maintenance. Unfortunately, there was no notice -- this is one of the things that tends to be a bit of a surprise here. We all wish there could be a little more notice, but it's not a day-in-advance notice usually, typically it's 90 seconds notice, max.

3) Lots of quests don't work, some abilities don't work, etc. Overall, it's still a great experience, but it's different.

servers are currently down for updates ect.
sometimes they restart the servers and such (explaining the DC's once ina while)
Netherstorm is a insta lvl 80, get your gear from a mall type deal
Shadowburn is a lvling/work for your gear but at a reasonably easier rate (35x)

wammo is a great private server imo, best one ive been on actually. ive tried at least 25 of the top 50 and this one has grabbed my attention enough to donate. welcome and hope you enjoy :D

1. its pretty random with the dc's it depends on how many people are on and what not but for the most part Wammo is really good about being up.

2. No idea what happened today im having the same probs but wait patiently and it will be back, it always is.

3. Wammo > Retail. Its like 20x rates for exp and stuff. If you vote you get 80 gold and a cool scratch card.

thanks for the info. and anyone else who decides to post on here, i'll check back later. how long should we wait before logging back in? i mean like today's maintenance for example, been offline quite a while now.

edit: suggestion for maintenance time selection; maybe tuesdays (like retail) during the morning-noonish time (like retail)... ratail did mad research to find the period of time of each week and month people were to be least affected by server down time. tuesday is usually a work/school and morning-noon is least used time for any non-work related internet use. also the 1st week of the month is when the welfare mom's (and soc sec peoples) can afford to go out and shop, thus taking the kids with her. they too busy wasting tax-payer dollars to be sitting online during that time.

nothing against the poor, just what the research shows.

yeah i am bummed that this weekend i could be entertained with WoW since i am not working this weekend and have to work thru the week... but i don't make the rules and i have yet to donate. so my opinion is just an opinion.

Well, i've played live for nearly 2 years now, after being told about this server, albeit the first i'd heard of private servers, within 2 weeks of joining the experience has been great, so much so i've already donated a few times.

I had a brief flick through other servers on the top 100 but nothing stood out, even checked out some of the homepages. However, wammo by far seems to be the best, certainly for me.

Yes, the dc's can be a little frustrating at times but I know the staff work very hard to keep the server running, and to be fair, they do a fantastic job!

Wammo gets my vote up

so what are the actual specs on the server? do we have a really top-end server? or is it kinda outdated? anyone know? is there already a post/sticky listing this info?
