A new player asked me where players gather...

So how about a social event, a party or whatever. No pvp. No monsters. Get the GM band formed in a prominent location, get some stripp-... I mean dancers in, get everyone moving and shaking, the ale flowing, jokes, hand out wammo coppers for roleplaying, etc. Spawn some unique vendors with ale, food, fireworks, and whatever else... a firework show, kites. Sort of like a renaissance fair.

Keep it all in /say to make 'being there' an incentive. Your hardcore players wont turn up, but I'm sure there are plenty of others that would enjoy it. Also allow players to be summoned to the event if they don't have appear.

If you're really serious you could even have roleplayers run a show or something. Hey, just go with the flow.
