Its does if you want to keep the powers you donated for, and if you wish to continue to play on this server. Follow the rules and if you dont like em..well you know theres always the door.

and theres a reason why you see the banned players section...thats where your SS would end up if you use Q commands to escape combat or to enter combat.

All I can say is that's retarded. If I haven't engaged this person at all (and being engaged by someone, and engaging them yourself are two totally different things) and I have the ability to leave, I should be able to. And I never said ANYTHING about using it to enter combat. That's wrong. I know that. But telling me that I would have to let him have his honor kill because he's a low piece of filth that can't do arena or BGs (if they work on here) like a true PvPer is just downright lame. Period. You're just encouraging that sort of play, which is ONLY fun to the person ambushing people, and I don't mean the Rogue spell.

I'm sorry, but that's just how it works. These are terms that people donating for these commands have to agree with them. Violate any of them, and you may have your permissions removed with no refund.

Just imagine for a minute if that rule didn't exist. Donors who have these commands would be 100% immune to getting killed. No matter what, they could always port out of combat and avoid getting killed even when they're at 1% HP. Wouldn't be very fair to the rest of the people, would it?

Apparently you people don't understand my point. I am in no way suggesting that the rule shouldn't exist at all. But you're apparently to lazy to differentiate between avoiding combat and abusing donor powers. It's possible to moderate the powers without making ridiculous blanket rules like that. If someone's porting out of combat in a way that abuses the power, trust me people will complain about it. And it's generally fairly obvious whether both people are in on the combat.
I mean porting out of a duel, obviously wrong. Porting out of combat you're actively participating in, obviously wrong. But porting away cause you don't feel like dealing with every jackass rogue in the other faction, not wrong at all.
All I'm saying is that instead of just automatically removing powers from anybody that ports out of combat, try using a nifty little thing called situational analysis. Imagine if the police got lazy and made it illegal to drive cars because some people drive intoxicated, or because some people like to rape people nobody is allowed to have sex. Obviously these are extreme examples but it's the same thought process. "Hey, some people are gonna do this thing that in certain situations is bad, so let's make doing the thing in any situation bad."

we used to follow the way your suggesting, but the majority of the admin's decided it would be easier to do it the way we currently have it. In any case you agreed to the current rules, and if you actually have an idea you think would be usefull, i'd suggest making a seperate thread for discussion on it, so that it's not ignored...Most people probably don't bother checking this thread =/

I am quite aware that the only reason this rule is enforced that way is because it'd be easier, that's why I used the word 'lazy' twice in my last post. That doesn't make it the best, fairest answer. As for your comment about people checking this thread, both Dinosaur and Diab (not to mention yourself) have responded to me directly so I'm in no danger of not being heard.

Think of non-donors, if we are just sitting there, and someone starts attacking us, we have to a) fight back, or b) die. Donors with Q commands are allowed them for cross faction inviting, and recalling to desired places, NOT FOR COMBAT. Just because you donated for something that gives you powers above others, doesn't mean you can take the value out of true 100% PVP.

I AM a non-donor, and trust me I know the frustration of the fight back or die situation, but when you donate, you get powers above non-donors. Duh. And no where does it say that Netherstorm is a "100% PvP" server, it's a FUNserver. If I have the ability to avoid combat that I don't find FUN (assuming I haven't engaged in said combat already) I, or anybody else, should be allowed to. That's my whole argument. There's nothing innately wrong with that. Every argument against that has been "what if people pvp and then leave just before they die".

Then take there powers and/or ban them!!!

I'm only suggesting that there be some sort of differentiation between avoiding combat and abusing powers.
