I did lvl 70 in 7 hours 21 minutes played time. Night Elf rogue, I now have almost full T6 and S3 armor sets and have 32 hours logged. I recently started an undead warrior and it is at lvl 39 in less than 2 hours played time, several other lvl 30-40 toons that have less than an hour logged, so its really easy to lvl.

Allies, starter area to lvl 7- 20 minutes
elwynn to lvl 10- 10 minutes Goldshire and lodging camp quests
westfall to lvl 20- 1 hour the caravan as you enter and sentinel hill quests...skip VC
duskwood to lvl 30- 1 hour darkshire quests
Stranglethorn vale to lvl 40- 1.25 hours Nestingwary abd BB quests
Tanaris to lvl 50- 1 hour - Gadgetzan quests and grinding
Plaguelands to lvl 58-1 hour Chillwind and Lights Hope quests
Hellfire penn to lvl 62- 30 minutes tops Honor Gold quests and expedition/temple
Zang to lvl 64- 30 minutes - cenarion quests
Nagrand to lvl 67-30 minutes - Elemental and Consortium quests
Shadowmoon Vally to lvl 70- 30 minutes Scryer or Aldor quests

This is how i lvl an ally toon, doesnt take long. Do the quests, kill the mobs, get everything you need. And remember you can always ask for help in killing something over the chatlines, or ask for items to be mailed to you, or they can appear to you, oh and for a great start, vote, get the 100g and have someone make you 4 Primal mooncloth bags, they are a must have item. hope this helps.
